Niki Hosseini-Kamkar is a Postdoctoral Scholar at the Laboratory for Child Brain Development at WashU. Niki completed her Ph.D. in Cognitive Development and Brain Sciences at Western University in London Ontario, Canada. Niki’s dissertation focused on how adverse life experiences impact the HPA axis and mesolimbic dopamine pathway. She is particularly interested in investigating how the severity and timing of adversity may be related to brain development and risk for various psychopathologies. At WashU, she is working on the CARE project and will use a variety of methods to examine the biological unfolding of early-life stress as a precursor to psychopathology. In her free time, Niki enjoys traveling, reading, and writing fiction.
